New Comic Day: Jared’s Picks for March 29

New Comic Day: Jared’s Picks for March 29

With so many options this Wednesday here’s the Comics you should be reading.

The mythical 5th Wednesday of the month is here which means Comics Annuals are coming. These are my top picks.

Infamous Iron Man #6

Written by Brian Michael Bendis

Art by Alex Maleev

His name is Doom and he is Iron Man. This book has been such a surprise since it’s initial release. Doom is a character I really enjoy and his turn to the light side has made him even more compelling. His mother as the main villain is also very intriguing because I know absolutely nothing about her. With the legendary team of Bendis and Maleev on this title, it should only get better.

Inhumans Prime #1

Written by Al Ewing

Art by Ryan Sook

I’m so excited about this book. The only Inhuman I know anything about is Ms. Marvel so this is going to be my research for the Inhumans TV Show. I’ve heard amazing things about Black Bolt, Medusa, Crystal, Maximus, and Karnak so I can’t wait to get to know them as characters. Solicits tease big things for Maximus and Black Bolt so hop on this train and experience this title with me.

Titans Annual #1

Written by Dan Abnett

Art by Minkyu Jung

There are few things better in comics than a good partnership. This issue will see some of the original sidekick’s team up with their mentors in an attempt to stop an alien invasion. Abnett has done a great job balancing heart with humor and with the inclusion of the mentors I expect more of the same.

X-Men Prime #1

Written by Marc Guggenheim

Art by Leonard Kirk, Ken Lashley, and Ibraim Roberson

I’m not one hundred percent sure how this issue will flow. This book is going to launch ResurrXion and has so much ground to cover. It will set up the team books X-Men Blue, X-Men Gold, Generation X, and Weapon X, then the solo books of Cable, Iceman, and Jean Grey. Guggenheim is writing this and his track record is hit or miss. He is responsible for some great stuff over in Legends Of Tomorrow but is also responsible for Arrow seasons 3-4 and the Green Lantern movie. No matter the quality this will be a title that will have a huge impact on Marvel Comics and that alone is a reason to read it.
